These Terms govern your use of ScreenshotTray (the "App"), a macOS application supplied by Daniel Warne, trading as TrulyUseful, of Melbourne, Australia ("we", "us"). By installing, opening, or paying for the App you agree to these Terms.
ScreenshotTray watches your screenshot folder, organises captures in a slide-in tray, optionally renames them with AI-generated descriptions, and provides one-click sharing destinations. It is a single-user macOS application installed on your own computer.
Subject to these Terms and your active subscription or paid-up perpetual licence, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on Macs you personally own or use, for personal or business purposes. This licence:
Genuine forced-reinstall cases (a wiped Mac, a hardware-warranty replacement, a fresh macOS install) do not count against you — email us at dan@trulyuseful.com.au and we'll free the slot. Site or team licences for multi-user deployment are also available on request.
Current prices and tiers are listed on the pricing page. Prices are quoted in US dollars and exclude local taxes. Local sales tax, GST, or VAT (where applicable to your billing country) is added at checkout and remitted by our payment processor. We may change pricing for new purchases at any time; existing subscriptions and perpetual licences keep the price you paid.
Paddle.com Inc. is the merchant of record for all paid transactions. Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, fraud screening, chargebacks, and tax compliance. Paddle's Buyer Terms and Privacy Policy apply to your payment alongside these Terms. Your bank statement will show "Paddle.net" or similar.
Monthly subscriptions auto-renew at the beginning of each billing period until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from the App or by emailing us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and you keep access through that period. Refunds for subscriptions are governed by our refund policy.
A perpetual licence is a one-time purchase that lets you keep using the App forever, plus a defined window of free updates (1 year or lifetime, depending on which tier you bought). After the update window ends, the App keeps working on the macOS versions it already supports — only new updates stop arriving. You may purchase additional update years at any time at the price listed on the pricing page.
ScreenshotTray integrates with optional third-party services that you opt into and configure with your own credentials:
Outages, pricing changes, or policy changes at these third parties may affect features that depend on them; we will adjust integrations as practical but cannot guarantee any third-party service will remain available.
We release updates regularly using the Sparkle auto-update framework. Updates may add, change, or remove features. We will give reasonable notice of any change that materially reduces functionality you specifically paid for during your active update window — refund options for those cases are covered by the refund policy.
ScreenshotTray, its name, logo, and source code are owned by Daniel Warne / TrulyUseful. Open-source components used inside the App retain their original licences, attributed in About → Open Source Components. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to TrulyUseful's trademarks.
How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy. By using the App you acknowledge that policy.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, except those that cannot lawfully be excluded. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will fit any particular purpose. To the extent the Australian Consumer Law (or your local equivalent) applies, you have non-excludable rights that these Terms do not affect.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability under or in connection with the App and these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the liability. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, fraud, wilful misconduct, or rights you have under consumer-protection statutes).
You can stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you breach these Terms in a material way and don't fix the breach within a reasonable time after we ask you to. On termination of a paid licence for breach, you must stop using the App; we are not obliged to refund prepaid amounts in that case.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes that can't be resolved by negotiation will be brought before the courts of Victoria, Australia. If you are a consumer, you may have rights to bring a claim in the courts of your home country regardless of this clause.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always at this URL with a "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes affecting paying customers will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means you accept the new version.
