Software that quietly removes friction from your day.

TrulyUseful is a small independent studio building Mac, iOS and web tools that fix the tiny, specific annoyances of modern work — the kind of problems that deserve an insanely great Mac solution.

Focused software with clear edges.

Every TrulyUseful app is built to solve a real annoyance with an insanely great Mac solution. No annoying ads. Just useful software that earns its place.

Small studio, serious software.

TrulyUseful is a one-person Melbourne software studio run by Dan Warne — former technology journalist and long-time Mac obsessive. Every app here is built to be the kind of thing you'd recommend to a friend without caveats.

  • Respectful software. Clear permissions, useful defaults, and no annoying ads.
  • Focused products. Small tools with clear boundaries, shaped around real workflows instead of attention traps.
  • Native where it counts. SwiftUI / AppKit on Mac, Swift on iOS, and lean web interfaces. No Electron, no bundled Chromium, no 400 MB installers for a menu-bar utility.
  • Boringly reliable. Apps are signed, notarised, auto-updated through Sparkle, and tested on the actual hardware they're going to run on — not just a simulator.
